System check including test activation and cartridge replacement on carbon: We recommend having the ABS® system checked by the manufacturer with a complete system check after an avalanche operation or after 3 - 5 seasons (depending on the number of days of skiing). For example, an avalanche operation, but also a certain number of days of skiing, can push the material to its limits and damage the avalanche airbag. A comprehensive system check is therefore essential, especially after an avalanche. As with the Small service package, the condition of the backpack straps, buckles, airbag pockets, Velcro fasteners, piercing unit, hoses and cables is checked, the clutch is oiled and the gas cartridge and release handle are replaced. In addition, when the airbag is triggered, the condition of the airbag wings and the release valve, as well as the inflation system and the tightness of the material are checked. If desired, your steel cartridge can be replaced with a lighter carbon cartridge instead of refilling after the test has been triggered. Due to the extremely light weight of only 280 grams, this offers a weight saving of almost 50% compared to the steel cartridge.
